Diabetes Care Centre

The Diabetes Care Centre is a diabetes clinic dedicated to the care of patients with diabetes. The team caring for patients is a multidisciplinary team comprising a diabetologist, specialist diabetes nurse educator, ophthalmologist, podiatrist, and dieticians. Our centre cares for patients who are enrolled on diabetes care programs, such as CDE (Cardiovascular Diabetes, Education – previously known as the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology), as well as the diabetes care programs of Discovery Health,Bonitas, and Polmed medical schemes. I addition we care for patients on all other schemes on a normal fee-for-service basis, as well as private patients who do not belong to a medical scheme. We are a registered insulin pump centre, and Dr Trokis is also registered to perform implantation of a subcutaneous continous glucose monitoring device, a procedure that he has performed more than any other health care provider in South Africa.
